CEO and founder of Hemp It Forward
“THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MEDICAL MARIUJANA. IT’S ALL MEDICAL BECAUSE CANNABINOIDS ARE ALL MEDICAL. THERE’S NO SEPARATION. PEOPLE CAN SAY THAT BUT ALL DOCTORS KNOW THAT IT IS ALL MEDICAL BECAUSE IT’S ALL THE SAME PLANT.”
As the longest surviving glioblastoma patient at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Cody Guy has made significant progress with achieving his dream of Giving Hemp to cancer patients in exchange for relevant data. For those who missed his previous article in Issue 1, Cody Guy is the founder of the nonprofit, Giving Hemp, with the mission of providing cannabis oils to those in need. Giving Hemp has now been rebranded as Hemp It Forward to prepare for Cody’s next big step as an entrepreneur.
Hemp It Forward is a more specific title for the nonprofit that essentially acts as a distributor as opposed to a producer. With the company’s partnership with farmers and labs in Oklahoma, the idea is for the company to redirect the hemp products to cancer patients. Not too long ago, the app that was being developed for Cody’s data exchange program was launched and now with over a month’s worth of data gathered, the developer, who works for the partnered company in Oklahoma, has been given the task of filling out a spreadsheet of all of the points that Cody has requested. These data points are meant to be with regard to how the hemp products have impacted these patients as their illnesses changed over time. This app was built to be very simple and intuitive for use and was meant to gather information on a weekly basis by requesting its users to fill out questionnaires without any need for the submission of medical records.
