Shakespeare Dallas
“Welcome to the people's theatre.”
Welcome to Shakespeare Dallas, the nonprofit organization that aims to create exemplary William Shakespeare inspired programs for everyone. Shakespeare Dallas serves a diverse community consisting of both children and adults unique outdoor and indoor staged performances, classes, and workshops throughout North Texas. You can purchase your tickets at shakespearedallas.org. This year, 2022, marks the 50th year anniversary of Shakespeare Dallas that started as a one-man play in Fair Park featuring the founder, Bob Glenn.
One of the board of directors of Shakespeare Dallas, Marcus Fuller, a single parent, traveled to Dallas for work and made the decision to “get out of the corporate field” and go about his work in his own way. Becoming an entrepreneur is a great way to get away from the corporate lifestyle by becoming your own boss. When growing your own business, particularly but not only for nonprofit, it is essential for one to develop and build upon relationships. Marcus emphasized that “you gotta be a salesperson, you know, you have to be a community activist, you have to be in touch with the community, and you have to be able to juggle all of these at the exact same time.”
